I need a primary care doc...

I am new to New York city and need a primary care doctor. I want to have the surgery and have GHI insurance. Does anyone know of a great doctor (preferably female) who can be my primary physician and would refer me for the surgery? I want someone who is open to the surgery, because I know there are a lot of doctors against it. I am 250 lbs and 27 years old. I need to lose 130 lbs. I would like the doctor to be located on the upper or lower east side, if possible, for convienence sake.

Jessica: I know an endocrinologist (male) on the Upper East Side who specializes in Bariatrics. Not sure if he takes GHI though, but he does participate in a lot of insurance plans. He is ABSOLUTELY WLS friendly. Email me privately if you want the details. Susan
