Maybe it's rude..but I have to ask...

I am going to be having my surgery in Horseheads, Ny...or Elmira Im not exactly sure where the hospital is. My next appt is on Wed (April 6). Anyway....if all goes well my sister and I are having it the same day. I'm 31 and she's 18. We are VERY strapped for funds because Ive been out of work the last few weeks. I was wondering if anyone in that area has an extra room that my sister and I could sleep in and we could maybe throw you some money. Dr. Cole wants us to stay down there for a week-but three days of those weeks will be spent in the hospital. We live three hours away and we'd have to pay for four nights of a hotel and when we finally get a date, I dont want to have to wait longer because of money issues. Ive wanted this so bad for so long, I dont want anything else to stand in my way. I keep talking to my husband about how helpful everyone on here is and I thought that even though its kind of bold and maybe rude that I could ask anyway. I also dont have an angel...Might as well get all the bold, desperate questions out at once, huh? anyway.....wish me luck...any other suggestions would be helpful. -Betty-Jean

Hi Betty-Jean I sure wish I could offer you a place to stay. If it were just me who lived here, I would offer you a place immediately with no second thoughts, but my husband would not approve. He does not like sharing our home with family or friends and therefore, I know he would disapprove sharing it with strangers. Me on the other hand would offer in a heartbeat. If I can think of anything else to assist you, I will let you know. I have lived in this area all my life, so I might be able to assist you somehow. I just did a quick search for you. The YMCA doesn't have rooms. poo. But I did find this Breesport Rental Rooms (607) 796-2515 1792 N Chemung Rd Breesport, NY 14816 6.6 mi NE - Directions Thats just east of Horseheads. I have no idea who,what, how much or conditions. But perhaps might be cheaper than a hotel. I wouldn't tell them you are coming out of surgery. They might be worried about liability issues. ?? You will probably just want to sleep a bit. Good Luck

Betty Jean, Do you have a surgery date yet?

I don't have a date yet but my Drs. appt on Wed (the 6th) is supposed to be my last one.I guess that's the one that they send the paperwork to the insurance company out.And Debbie ( at Dr Coles) told us ( my sister and I) to call our insurance companies and ask what they require before they approve us and from what they told us we already have everything done. So who knows.....Ill let everyone know more on Wed. I forgot that you had offered Terri...Ive been kind of absent-minded lately. Ill keep in touch....Betty-Jean
