Realistic return to work time???
Hello All
I just recently told my employer about my surgery. Needless to say they were not happy. I told them I should be back in 2 weeks, but now I am wondering if I was just kidding myself and apparently them too??
I am having lap rny 4/19. My surgeon said I could be back in 2 weeks, so that is what I went with.
I only work part-time about 18 hours a week. What do y'all think?
I am a medical assistant/secretary, no heavy lifting involved.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

Take care hun

Hi
I had open and I went back in 3 weeks, everyone is different, I did tell my job I would be out 4 weeks, and then I needed a doc note for clearence to return to work, but here they don't know what kind of surgery I had either.....and I don't want them to....
I wish you much success in your journey to a healthier and happier lifestyle....
Christine
I work full time and I went back to work after 4 weeks. I did work some (maybe 2 hours or so at a time)from home after a few days. I think I would have been fine going back early - however, the extra time really did make a difference in my energy level. If you are working 18 hours a week and fairly sedentary you should be ok. Just be sure to listen to your body and give it time to recover.
