stricture dilated????

Hello All, Well I just wanted to ask if you had a stricture how do they correct that? and what is the procedure? and does your surgeon do that? OK see I have to much time now to read..... Thanks all, Debra P

Hi Deb, Usually the doctor stretches open the stoma that has closed up tightly (good healing...lol) by doing an endoscopy (down the throat) and stretching it open. Usually the patient is under a light general anesthesia and doesn't feel anything (no surgery involved). Sometimes when a person has a stricture, they usually get one or two more and have the same thing done and then it is usually fixed. No biggie really, but scary and uncomfortable until the person knows for themselves sometimes. Take care and I hope I answered your question well enough, Presh in NY 395/290/160ish
