Pregnancy and WLS

Anyone know any good information about the WLS and Pregnancy? My husband is freaking out about having a baby after the WLS, he thinks that the baby will lack and suffer in growth because of the smaller stomach. If anyone has any good sites or tips or ANYTHING for that matter..Let me know..so he stops going It's not like I have to worry about this now, but getting the information to him as soon as possible and into his thick skull would be great! TTFN!!! You guys are awesome!

I don't have any sites, but I did ask the doc last Saturday the same question. He said that you have to be on birth control for 18 months, but he doesn't recommend having a child for 24 months. By 18 months, he said your pouch (I'm doing lap rny) will be large enough to sustain yourself and your child nutritionally, but to be safe, he recommends waiting the extra 6 months! Hope this helps! Andi Yeah..I just got the IUD so I wouldn't even have to worry about taking pills and what not..I just have a four year old now and I really didn't want a long wait in ages..but..oh well. This is much more important right now, as it is I havn't even been able to get pregnant because of my weight..we'll see. :P God Bless

Hey Girl! I have been beside my best friend for the past three years while she's gone thru miscarriage after miscarriage because she was so overweight (she is, thank God, 6 months pregnant, finally!!!!). I didn't want that to happen to me when I decided I was ready to start my family. That is a big factor in why I wanted to have the surgery! I know your husband is having second thoughts, but it's just because he cares about you and might even be a bit scared. But, ultimately, you have to do what's best for you and your future. hi i,m in oakfeild out side batavia if you have and long term ????? i,m 4yrs out and doing good as for the baby thing there is a sight i think on the main entrance but i know it 18mon. to 2yrs you should waite my cousin had her third baby, after WLS about 3yrs out and she did fine ! have a great day kelly
