Liz, Congratulations on your earlier date. If you haven't started a food dairy already please do so and take it with you to your appointment. It will help. I had keep one for a month in between my first appointment and the second one. I had only had a week of food dairy entries when I went to the first appointment. The nutri will be going over the checklist for preparing for gastric bypass surgery to see how you are doing with it. I met with two of the nutri at Highland and they both are very nice and easy to work with. I am sorry I don't have any information on Medicaid. Good Luck Burt

Hi Liz Congratulations on getting an earlier appointment. But be prepared for the need for a supervised program. From what I understand, medicaid is now requiring 6 months of supervised nutrition and exercise prior to surgery. I do not have medicaid, but others have told me of the change. Most insurance companies are also now requiring 6 months of a supervised program. I had BC/BS who had approved me for surgery on 3/17 which was cancelled as my husband retired and his employer changed us to Aetna. Aetna requires a supervised nutrition and exercise program of 6 months (within the past two years) prior to surgery . So my surgery was cancelled as I have only 3 months. The reason for the change is because of the increase of people wanting the surgery. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Brenda
