Hey Dawn. I am 5'3 and I weigh 240, I am not worrying about getting to thin right now. I'd rather be to thin then to fat.LOL. Also, if you start getting to thin, there are things you can do to try to maintian your weight, like eating more carbs and things. My surgery is tomorrow and I'm just so excited. Don't let people get you down. This is your time to shine!

I wouldn't worry about getting too thin - you can always maintain your weight at any time you like with the help of your nutritionist or dietician. Plus, if your BMI is already a bit lower than most WLS patients, you'll probably lose it much slower anyway. So you'll be able to gauge your loss in a healthy way. Good luck! Don't let others get you down!

Hi Dawn your body knows when to stop lossing weight so I don't think that will be a problem....but there is always the posiblity of it happening I think it has to do with malnutrion.....but you should ask your surgeon about it he can give you the correct answer to easy your mind.... Don't let people discourage you they are afraid of the unknown... Best of luck to you with your journey.. Christine

Hi Dawn, I was afraid of the same thing. I had my surgery and May 20 will be my one year anniversary. I am 5'3 and I weighed 247 pounds before the surgery and I am now down to 135 pounds For me this is where I want to be at. I went form a size 22/24 pants to a 4-5 now. I do not want to lose anymore I feel I am at the right weight and I also asked my doc and he said your body knows when to stop. I have not moved up or down (Thank God) for about a month and a half now and that is just fine with me. Remember everyone is different so you can't go by what works for other people. I hope this has helped some but you really should discuss this with the doc he/she knows best. You have to decided for yourself what is right for you. You are the only one who can decide what you should do. I wish you all the best. May you have an uncomplicated surgery and a speedy recovery. Evelyn 247/135/past goal
