insurance help

hi everyone i need help with my insurance i had medcaid all along but they change it to welcare somthing my doctor dont take i had done all my bloodwork ekg and everything and now ready to do my surgery he gave me a date and tell me i need to lose 10 pound by that date but my insurance have to change frist .has anyone had this happend to them, and what did you do.any

Claudette I do not have Medicaid, but I had something similar happen. I was approved by BC/BS in January 2005 to have surgery TODAY, but because of some screw up with my husband retiring, we got transferred to Aetna who would not approve my surgery so my surgery was cancelled. You are lucky because you only have to lose 10 pounds before your surgery date. Thank God it is not cancelled. I have to be in a supervised program for 6 months before I can re-submit a request for the surgery. May your surgery be uneventful and your recovery speedy. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
