New to the crowd!

Hello everyone! My name is Melissa..I'm from Buffalo. I just wanted to throw up a note, because I just got approved for my surgery! First letter! Go me! I'm so excited, and I'm waiting on my surgery date, hopefully I'll find out Friday. I'll let ya'll know!! God Bless.

:wave; Welcome aboard! And congrats. I'm sure there are plenty that wish to be in your shoe. I think that's great news. I was pretty lucky with the approval also. Thank God! I'm now 5 weeks post op and feeling OK. SO it's all good

HI, Melissa! I'm from Lockport and just got my surgery date today for May 2nd. Dr. Caruana is going to do mine, too. I am hoping to go to the support group at Sister's Hospital the first Tuesday in April. What did you think of Dr. Caruana?? How about that exercise room?!?! You go, girl!

That exercise room is AMAZING. Yeah, I am hoping to attend the April second group meeting. I went to the one in March, but I'm wanting to go again to gain and learn new information, I had a great time. You'll love it. How long did it take you to get a response from the approval letter to the surgery date? I'm waiting on pins and needles..I'm so excited. God bless!

I got the letter from my HMO on March 5th. I was really suprized that I got it so soon (my first office visit was on Feb. 22) after the nurse told me it would take at least 4 weeks. The doctor's office called me on the 11th, but I was unable to take the call and the office was closed for the day when I was able to call back. It was a long weekend! I was able to actually choose the date of my surgery!!! The nurse had April 25th open, but because we had planned to go to Cancun and darling daughter wouldn't be home from college until the 29th, I asked for the next spot. I was happier with the 2nd of May because the surgery was earlier in the day. I'm excited for both of us!!

Well..I'm hoping they call me this friday to schedule it. I really want may. I'm wishing for it. Lets hope it comes true. I love the weather in May.

Hello Melissa, I was suprised how quick the approval came as well. Here I was all set to wait weeks and weeks. Have you been at any of Dr. C's support group meetings? I have attended 3. They are very informative and it's great to meet people in person. Best of luck to you. DonnaMarie Buffalo, NY

I've only been to the ones at sisters Hospital, it's hard for me because I'm a stay at home mom and I've no vehicle. So!! I get to bus it. I'll be attending more though..I had a fabulous time when I went to the last one. I met some incredible people!!
