Hello all My name is Tammy. I am 35 with 4 children. I go to seminar on the 18th of this month and in need of advice what to look forward to during my WLS journey. The good news and the bad, all news is welcome. I have been reading the message board for about a week now. I love the information I have read. Thanks. I look forward to making friends with fellow WLS people, in this state and others. I have seen what a great place for support and encouragment this site is. Thank you to the developer. Looking forward to reading your post Tammy

Hi Tammy...I don't know about anyone else but I found that research was the biggest help to me in my journey. I come to this site almost every day to read posts which has been a HUGE help! The days when I felt discouraged reading the posts always made me feel better. Everyone on the NY Board has been so supportive it's unbelievable! I don't think I would have stuck with this if it wasn't for them. Check in often and you will always find the support and encouragement you need throughout your journey! Knowing there is always someone there helps so much....Alice, Evelyn and others whose names I can't remember right now unfortunately have been absolutely wonderful in the past year I have been coming here....this is the greatest place! Thank you to all of you on the NY Board!

Hello Tammy Welcome to the NY Board. When I decided to have WLS, I researched various websites relating to gastric bypass surgery. I read many good stories as well as bad about the surgery. However, I did not allow anything or anyone to discourage me. When I came across this website, it was one of the best things. There is so much support here. I've been on this site ever since I first joined. I look forward to reading many of the post. I also visit other boards as well. Wishing you much success as you travel this journey. Glenda

Hi Tammy, I see you live in Wayland. I live in Corning. I had surgery on 2/11/05 with Dr. Cole. There are some really great websites that are helpful for this journey. There are also some good books. If you would like to email me or chat, i'd be more than willing to do so. my email address is [email protected] Terri P.s. There is a support group meeting on 3/14/05 at East High School in Corning NY at 6pm that is for pre and post ops and for anyone interested in this surgery. I plan on attending.
