Just wanted to introduce myself....

Hi everyone. My name is Clarissa and I've been checking out this web site for several months now.... however I didn't realize there was a board for NYS alone. This is wonderful!! I'm currently waiting for a surgery date from my Doctor. Anxiously I might add I have an appointment on Friday to see him one last time and weigh in. I'm some what nervious that he will want me to lose weight before surgery and that will delay this more, but we will see. I will be having Lap. RNY bypass in Ithaca, NY. (I live in Corning, NY) Anyway just wanted to say hello.... and I hope to get to know you all better. Thanks for all of your sharing and support. Clarissa

HIya, Clarissa! I live near Buffalo and am awaiting a surgery date, too. I love to visit the Finger Lakes area, but it's been a loooonng time since I was in Corning. How's the snow fall down there lately? Becky Jean

Becky, snowfall in Corning is horrible. We got about a foot and a half - at least up where I live in the boonies... YUCK! If you're in the neighborhood, let us know! Terri

Hi Clarissa, I also live in Corning. I had RNY on Feb 11, 2005. I went through Cole's office in Horseheads. If you would like group support, we have group meetings at Arnot Hospital the first Monday of each month at 6pm and then the second monday of each month, they are held at East HIgh in Corning at 6pm. If you have any questions or would like to get together and chat, let me know as we live in the same area. Would love to help if I can, or just give support. There are many on this site with a wealth of knowledge. I've learned alot by reading Tooter's website, talking to her, Alice, Evelyn, etc. Everyone here is friendly, willing to talk, give advice or just give support. Brenda, Stephanie and I are planning on meeting each other at the Arnot meeting on Monday at 6pm then going somewhere after to chat. YOu are more than welcome to do that. You could ride with me if you want. We are trying to get Tara there too... Anyway, feel free to email me anytime. Good luck, Terri
