newbie here :)
Hello Vivian,
Welcome to the AMOS family. There is so much support here. I am currently awaiting my surgery date.
I began my journey in earnest in 9/04 and am now awaiting my surgery date (my insurance approval just came through yesterday). There are many wonderful and supportive people on this site, and I have learned so much. I found that reading profiles helped me make my decision to go ahead with this journey to health.
I wish you all the best and if I can help at all be sure to email me. Take care and good luck. Debra
Vivian,
There are sooo many people here who are willing to help and be a support. Just ask away. Read profiles of others, that has helped me. Also there are long term members who are willing to share their experiences, advice, etc.
Not everyone has the same opinion and different Doc's have different ideas on what to do, but take information as it comes, think about it, sort it out, ask your doc or dietician for verification if you need to, and do what is best for you.
If there is anything I can do for you, let me know. I'm only 2 weeks out, but I can be a support.
Terri
Hi Vivian,
Welcome, just ask as you go...I am sure it wont be hard to find someone who has an answer!
Sometimes it is trial and error, or you may need to ask your doctor, but for the most part...we can help the best we can...good support makes a world of difference...I wish the best for you in your new journey...keep your head up and God bless!
Take Care,
Roxanne
Welcome Vivian
If you are looking for support, you have come to the right place. Congrats on your decision to make this journey. I just began looking into it 11/04 and am scheduled for surgery on 3/17.
As the others have said, ask away. There is always someone who can help with an answer and everyone is so friendly. If you feel like venting, we will listen.
Feel free to e-mail me if you just want to chat.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
Brenda
Hi Vivian! Welcome it's great to have you here! If there is anything I can help you with please let me know. It looks like everyone has said all there really is to say about getting info here Like they said just away and I am sure one or most likely lot's of us will be able to help in one way or another.
I started my research over 2 yrs ago and I started posting here on Valentines day of last year! I had my surgery on May 20th 2004 at White Plains Hospital and I have past my goal weight. I had the LAP RNY and I have to say I would do it over in a heart beat. This is the best thing I could have done for myself and I have not oneregret what so ever about having had the surgery done.
May you have an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery! Remember your AMOS will always be here for you and we always listen and we DON"T critize anyone ever!
Have a Great Day and once again WELCOME
Evelyn
