Hope everyone is fairing the last of the NY winter well...not much longer to go! I am anxious to get out in the warm sunshine and be active...(I am not a winter/cold person at all). I still havent budged the scales at all...standing pretty steady on 11-13# in a month I am not giving up, but I really struggle to not let myself get too discouraged. I have been going to the recipe link on this site and am trying to prepare myself for a regular diet soon...in the mean time...I will continue with stage II diet Best wishes to all...and see ya around... Take Care, Roxanne

Roxanne, I hate the NY weather too. Guess we are supposed to get some type of bad winter snow today and tonight. I get very tired of it. I look forward to Spring so I can get out and walk. I sympathize with you about the slow weight loss. As I posted earlier, I have lost nothing since last friday when i had my first weigh in. For eating so little calories, it is truly frustrating that there has been NOT ONE BIT of tipping on the scales. At this point, I want to throw them in the snow bank. Best wishes to you and your weight loss and hoping it picks up for you. Take Care, Terri

Terri and Roxanne, I am only Pre-op right now but I would like to offer some info that through my dieting over the years I learned and I am not really sure if it would help you all but if it can that would make me happy...... I know if I am not eating enough calories for my weight that I do not lose enough weight. I have to make sure I eat enough calories so that my body work efficiently and burns right, if I try to starve myself I do not lose as much within that week. Could that be the same after WLS? Maybe you are not getting in enough food to keep your body running efficiently? I don't know if that is it but it was worth a thought....... Not wanting to intrude but wanted to offer my experience..... Debra P

Deb, You are definately not intruding. Experience is always welcome. That is what I am here for. My husband had questioned whether or not I am in starvation mode and if my body went into reserve and maybe that is why there has been no loss. These past 2 weeks of clear liquids has been tough, not because i am hungry, but definately bored with it. Tomorrow I start full liquids so maybe that will bring a jump start. You would think if I can't lose weight on 50 calories, how will I lose it on more than that, however, if I am getting in some valuable nutrients, maybe that will help. At this point I'm not sure. I 'm just following what the dietician said. I don't see her until March 2. If there is no weight loss at that appointment, I am going to scream. It is hard to have waited so long for surgery (originally denied even after appeal a year ago), to finally having the surgery then no weight loss. Imagine the disappointment. I have read many profiles and seen such amazing results. I am sooo happy for others who are experiencing the weight loss (it gives me inspiration), however, not having that same experience does make me feel less than successful. Terri

Debra, You are not at all intruding , I wonder about the calories myself, because I experienced that during weigh****chers, I was eating just below my points and quit losing...raised my intake to within my points range and started losing again. I have been afraid to increase intake because I am afraid of gaining ...I just dont know what to do...I am going to give it another month then address it with my surgeon again and my dietician. I wont give up yet!!! Thanks always for support, Roxanne
