BMI below 40

Has anyone had surgery with a BMI below 40 in ny ?

Hi Johanna; When I started my journey I had a BMI of 40 but my PCP wouldn't even think about allowing me to have surgery til I lost 30 pounds because I was too high risk with some of my medical problems. When I saw the surgeon for the first time I had a BMI of 36 and was approved 3 days after the insurance company got my paperwork but I had just about every co-morbidity listed. Good luck Kathi
