HAVING SURGERY DONE AT ANOTHER HOSPITAL .. PLEASE HELPP

I AM CONCERN A LITTLE MAYBE YOU GUESS CAN HELP..I WILL BE SEEING DR.GRABER INSTEAD OF DR .WEISS IN UPSTATE I THINK DR.GRABER IS A VERY GOOD DOCTOR ALSO IN UNTICA NY..I HAVE RESEARCH HIM FOR QUIT AWHILE A DECIDED JUST YESTERDAY ON HIM..MY ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT MY INSURANCE IS NOT IN THE NETWORK FOR ST.LUKE AND THAT'S WERE HE DOES THE SURGERY, HE TOLD ME THAT I CAN GET HE CAN DO IT AT THE HOSPITAL DOWN THE STREET WHICH IS ST.ELIZABETHS WHICH MY INSURANCE DOES EXCEPT THEM TO BE IN THE NETWORK.MY QUESTION IS WOULD THAT BE A PROBLEM HAVING DONE AT A HOSPITAL THAT HE NORMALLY DON'T DO SURGERY AT ARE IT DOESN'T MATTER, I WAS THINKING ABOUT THE NURSES NOT KNOWING WHAT TO DO IF A PROBLEM OCCUR, ARE THEN MAKING SURE I START WALKING RIGHT AFTER SURGERY..I DON'T KNOW GUYS PLEASE HELLLLP.. SORRY FOR THE CAPS...

I had the same issues and I have decided after a lot of research to stick with the original hospital and pay the out of network difference. If you can afford to do this, perhaps that is the safest way...usually there is a reason the docs pic certain hospitals. Good luck choosing! Jodie-kay

Tracey, Dr. Graber is very good. I know someone who had for her surgery last year, and I believe she had it done at St. Elizabeth's. Dr. Graber is affiliated with both hospitals. I do know that St. E's does bariatric surgery there so I don't think you would have any problems. Good luck and I hope it goes well for you. Debra

Good choice. Dr Graber did my surgery at St Lukes. He is a great Dr and his follow up care is extrodinary.
