Fourteen days to go. Yep, it's time to start to panic.

I'm really, really starting to panic. A gazillion what if's flying thru my head...what if something goes wrong...what if I don't eat the right things after... I know why I'm doing this, and I know I'm doing the right thing for myself, and my health...but my brain feels like it's about to jump out of my head right now. They moved my date from the 21st to the 23rd--they finally figured out they don't operate on President's Day--but I wish at this point they hadn't. Wish I could get this done tomorrow--the waiting is the hardest part right now.

Barry, I hear you loud and clear. Tomorrow I am on clear liquids, take my "clean out meds" and my anti-biotics and then I am to be at the hospital Friday at 5:30am. I am PSYCHED!! It almost doesn't seem real.. like it's some dream and I'm watching from somewhere else. Take Care and keep in touch, Terri

Are "clean-out" meds standard? My doc told me no solid food after Monday evening, but didn't say anything about "clean-out" meds. Is this a normal thing?

Barry, I think each MD will do different things, so I can't tell you what is standard. My MD is having me on clear liquids today (including popsicles, chicken or beef broth, jello, tea, fruit juices). At Noon I have to mix 2 TBSP of Fleet Phospho-soda with 8oz chilled clear beverage and down it. This will empty the bowels out. (I know that not all docs do this, some do enemas). Then I have to take Neomycin 500mg 2 tabs at 4,6,7, and 8pm. They said this was an anti-biotic to "clean out the bugs". So, again, all docs will do different things, so I'm sure your doc will let you know what is expected for you. At this time tomorrow, I will be on the losing side! Terri

Hi Barry~~ Your on the emotional rollercoaster right now - and that is normal. The waiting is the hardest part of your journey. Sorry that they moved your date, even 2 days is hard!! You should try and stay busy. Get out this week-end and take a look at the world.....because after your WLS it will be a much different and better world for you and your family. Stay focused on your new healthier and happier lifestyle. Update your profile.... make list of how your feeling now and what you would love to do after your surgery. Please don't forget to take a before picture---you will be glad you did. If you need anything, were just a post away! Wishing you all the very best!!! Alice
