Well I had to have emergency surgery last Wednesday, it all started at about 7am with this pain right in the middle of my chest just below the rib cage. It felt like acid reflux nothing to bad at this point, so at about 10 I said to my wife maybe I should go to the health center to see if I can get something for it as the pain is starting to get worse. So at 11 I go in they take my BP which was 165/95 pain level at an 8 out of 10. Dr asked where I hurt and what else was going on and I said just the pain that started this morning for no reason. He gave me a sample for the reflux but said I need to change my BP meds since it was so high. I said the pain was bad and that must be making it high so he OK. Off home I go now its 11:45 and I am on the floor in tears it hurt so bad the pills he gave me did nothing and now I have taking two OXYCODONE 7.5 pills for the pain and still nothing. So I asked my wife call my WLS Dr in California to see if he could help out since the Dr here had not a clue as to why my pain would start at 7 and me being ready to kill the next person that walked in the door. So we talked to Dr Korman told him what was going on and he said to get to the hospital and tell them you (meaning me) need to have my Gallbladder taken out ASAP. So off we go 45 mile to nearest hospital doing 90 on the highway to the ER to have me checked out. At this point 2 more pills for pain and still looking for the gun it hurt so bad, so I get to ER check in and now wait to be called, well after 15 minutes I had it and started to go nuts because of the pain so bad they take me in start and IV and drug me up (much better) so I had 2 or 3 scan until they said yep you were right its the gallbladder but now its 6 pm. So into surgery I go at 7:30pm and out by 10pm. Dr told my wife my gallbladder on the back side was so dead he could not understand why I had no pain before this. So he told me my stay in the hospital would be between 5 & 7 days because he could not do me LAP because of my Plastic Surgery and how the PS Dr tightened up my stomach muscles so now I have this 8 inch cut sideways across my chest (not pretty) but I am pain free Anyway I was let out on Sunday only 3 1/2 day because I was doing so well and he was shocked I was walking the next morning, must be those 4 miles walks I do everyday that worked for something. So here I am on the mend going nuts because its going to Snow here on Thursday and I cant ride that Snowmobile but something tells me I will give it a try anyway. Just wanted to let you guys know what's up with me and to say HI to everyone since I have been gone. Oh one last thing I also want to thank my WLS Dr (Dr Korman from LA California) for saving my life AGAIN and to also tell you guys his office sent me 3 dozen long stem baby roses in the mail yesterday, how cool is that a Dr sending you something besides a BILL Tony

Alice that pain was the worst I had ever felt in my life and never want to go there again, as for the Dr at the Health Center I kind of told him I thought it was reflux because of how it felt from before and also I am the only by-pass person they have ever seen so I dont blame them at all, anyway thanks for writing.

Hi Debra you are right about the flowers, the thing is my Dr in California sent them to me not the Dr that took out my Gallbladder. I called him for advice and he tells me what is wrong and then sends me flowers, I should be sending him something for telling me what was wrong. He is one great guy and I thank him every day for saving my life. I will be two years out come the 19th of this month so now I owe him big time and what I think we are going to do is make a surprise trip to LA next month to thank him in person. Tony

Oh My God - what an ordeal! I am soooo glad you are doing well now though. Take it easy and recuperate before you even think about stepping foot on the "sled"! We wouldn't want to have you jostle anything loose, now would we? Get some rest and jus****ch the beautiful snow come down! Tracy

WOW! I heard that Gallbladder pain is REALLY BAD! You are such a trooper! Just be careful, rest and take it easy until you have healed. Glad to hear that you are doing better! Good thing you've got a great surgeon *****ally CARES about his patients! You say the pain is in the center of your chest?.... I've been to the doctor everyday this week for chest pain too. Since we have a strong family history of heart disease I've been getting my heart tested (and retested and tested again...). Now I'm wondering if they are off-base...The pain is definitely NOT getting any better! HMMM..... Take Care! Yvonne
