I am 26, 280, 5'6". I just got my health insurance, and now seeking the first stages for WLS. My insurance company just gave me a bunch of The bariatric surgery is covered by my insurance, just has to be medically necessary. My BMI is 43%!!! I work out 3-5 times a week, I eat healthy almost all the time, maybe once a week I eat junkfood, and I am struggling terribly with my weight. The woman at the Insurance company sounded as if getting the surgery wasnt going to happen unless I was near death, and the surgery was medically necessary. I have been trying so hard to do this on my own with not a lot of progress. What can I do? Any suggestions on how to get thru this? I sm ao frustrated.! Karen

Dear Karen, First take a deep breath...then RELAX! The people at the insurance companies are supposed to try and disuade you from 'elective surgery' so they can keep their costs down. Ignore her, and do what you gotta do to get those letters of 'medical neccessity' ready to submit to your insurance. Sometimes people also let their personal opinions prevent them from doing their job and helping you. Good Luck and Keep your head up! Yvonne
