Hi all! Well, today I received the paper telling me about my appointments for before and after surgery. I also received a call from the doctor's nurse telling me they had to change my date from 2/16 to 3/17. How can they build you up like that and then change it all? I was so excited and now I am so bummed. Maybe it just isn't meant to be. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Brenda

Hey Brenda, what a bummer! My surgical date is for 2/15 so I can identify with you! I would be sooooooo mad. You know what, since you really can't do anything about it put it in prospective, maybe this is what is meant to be for you, a good thing. That's what I think I would do. I'd feel like it wasn't meant to be that date for some reason I'll never know but 3/17 will be my date, the right date for me! Good luck to you and no more negative thoughts, stay positive! Sandy

Sandy Thanks for the words of encouragement and you are right. I just don't understand how they can possibly know 12 days in advance if there will be a bed available or not. My husband told me to just roll with the punches like I have always done. I feel better about it this morning, but I am so anxious to start losing. Congratulations on your date. May your surgery be uneventful and your recovery speedy. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers Brenda

Thanks Christine!!! I know God lets things happen for a reason and I must accept that. I am feeling better this morning. If the doctor were requesting more tests, I probably wouldn't be so upset. The reason was they won't have a bed available in the ICU. How can they possibly know that 12 days ahead of time????? You are right and so is my hubby. He told me to roll with the punches as I have always done. So, I am smiling and praying for a cancellation if that is God's Will. You take care of yourself. Seems you are doing well. Good for you. Hanging in there!!! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Brenda

Brenda, I can just imagine how upset and disappointed you were when you got that news. All things happen for a reason. Just hang in there...hopefully it will go fast! Keep your chin up! Gail

Gail Thanks for your encouragement. It is very disappointing because you get yourself all prepared for the change in your life and WHAM! it is not happening then. So you have to do it all over again. You are right that all things happen for a reason and I need to accept it. Good luck with your surgery. May it be uneventful and your recovery speedy. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Brenda

Brenda, I am so sorry your date got changed. There has to be a good reason why. A year ago, I was approved by Blue Cross but denied by Blue Shield even after appeal. I was horrified! I had wanted it so bad. Then, my husband changed jobs, I decided to get insurance through my employer and was accepted. I was shocked. Now I am sooo sick, coughing, sneezing, sore throat, etc., that I am afraid I'm not going to heal in time for surgery. It seems like it is always one thing after another.. take care, I live about 20 minutes from you if you need to call and vent. Terri

Terri: Hi Thanks for your kind words. I guess that things were just going too smoothly. The only bump in the road I had was having to do the sleep apnea study. Everything else rolled along rapidly. The reason it was changed is because an ICU bed won't be available for me the first night. How can they know that this far away????? I will pray that you are well by 2/11 so your surgery is not postponed. It is hard to get all prepared then have to face it all over again. Take care of yourself and get better. Thanks for the offer; I may be in touch to vent. I think my poor hubby gets tired of listening to my venting. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Brenda

Brenda~~ I am so sorry to hear that your date was changed!! I really know how your feeling {{{{{{SPECIAL HUGS}}}}}}} That happened to me too. Only they did not give me another date, just told me that I would get a call with a new date in about 6 weeks. When I asked why, they could not give me a reason. So I just started to call the office--Everyday--and ask for a date. It worked, they got tired of hearing from me and gave me a new date! Which was sooner than my old one. You should give the office a friendly call and ask why your date was changed and let them know how you feel. Who knows, maybe they had a cancellation this week-end!! Good Luck!
