Angel Duty-Tammy G
Tammy Gage had her RNY with Dr. O'Malley at Highland Hosp. in Rochester, yesterday. I went to visit her tonight (she is a long way from home ) She is doing good. Says she feels pretty sore but has been up to walk several times since surgery last night. They were going to bring her in a tray when I was there and start her on oral meds. That hospital needs to get with the program though! They bring the Gastric bypass patients juice sweetened with high fructose corn syrup..Tammy got sick on it..Well duh people..have they never heard of dumping? She said Water feels ok though. Congrats TAMMY to the LOSING SIDE!
Hi Faith~~
Will hospitals ever get it straight!!
I have told everyone---Always be very careful of the food in your hospital!!!! When in doubt---Do Not Eat!!!!!
BEWARE of the Jello!!
Some hospitals put in in small dishes......My advice would be...only eat the Jello that is Sealed and says SUGAR FREE!!!!
And that Juice!! It has lots of sugar
Thanks for the update on Tammy! She is a very long way from her home in Canada....stop by and send her some support.....she could use it!!!

Glad to hear Tammy is doing well. I have to say though when I was at that hospital in November for my RNY I had no problems at all. On my 1st day I had nothing by mouth. ON the 2nd day I had water and they did give me some apple juice but told me I had to dilute it first. The nurses were very adamant about it. I didnt care for the jello so that was no problem! I am sorry Tammy got some bad hospital workers.
