Hi everyone I am new to this whole forum. I am so excited I just came home from my appointment with Dr. Simon and he told me that they are going to submit to the insurance company for approval. I really can't wait to be healthier again. I most likely will be looking to all of you guys for help and support through this whole process. Debbie

Hi Debbie Welcome to the board. We have all been in your spot. I have been here since November 2004 (I actually registered before that, but just lurked). Wishing you the best on getting your insurance approval. It is great that you found the courage to return to the doctor and continue this journey. This is definitely the place for help and support. The folks here are wonderful. If it hadn't been for their help and encouragement through rough spots, I would probably have given up. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Brenda

Great news Debbie. I hope your approval process goes smoothly and your date is set in a couple weeks. My paper work was supposed to be sent in two weeks ago. Unfortunately, now I have to have an EDG (endoscopy) as I haven't had one in two years, and they just want to make sure everything is fine with my esophagus. I haven't had may problems with GERD in the last couple years, but in the past (5 or 6 years ago) I have had esophageal ulcers. I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. I am sure it will be fine, it just puts off the submission of paperwork process a couple weeks. I am seeing my GI doc on Monday a.m. The issue is that I'm a professional photographer, and I was hoping to have my surgery by March or April before my busy season (although I do have one wedding to photograph in mid-April). I am going to talk to the GI doc on Monday about getting this procedure done asap, so we can get the show on the road . Again, great news for you Debbie, please keep me posted. Debra
