Has anyone ever experienced this feeling???
I am 5 weeks post-op today...and the other day I chopped upa boiled egg and put a tiny amount of miracle whip on it...and after one bite I got kindof a gurggling feeling and it felt like it was coming back up my throat as a foam (sorry to be gross) and I had to go spit it out in the toilet....sometimes I can eat with no problems and other times I experience this...it happened with pudding too.....I have been doing pretty good for the past few days...hasn't happened...maybe my stomach is starting to tolerate things better...any ideas????? I'd like to hear from any and everyone who has had similar problems......
I will bet the miracle whip is the culprit. That kind of dumping is not fun. I can sometimes do eggs, other times not. Same with tuna. Also, even pudding you have to eat very slow and watch the ingredient panels - you don't want an excess of bad [and frequently hidden] calories.
You will find that your tolerances will change over time. This is the time you use to create *new* eating habits so that when you CAN eat whatever you want to, you are in the habit of eating what is good for you.
Good luck!
Hi there Cindy, I get that foamy problem when try to eat ice cream or chocolate. I believe that it is the high fat content.I am over 1 year post-op and just beginning to be able to eat certain stuff. Meat was a NO NO for a long time. The only thing I could eat was Wendys Chili.
Everybody is different. I had that foamy stuff happen with the fatty stuff. Try some mustard in the egg salad.
I hope I was able to help you. Good Luck to you. Ever day will be a new learning experience with your new stomach. Let me give you a word to the wise....... "Chew your food well"
Take care........Lorraine
