As always, you provide a good source of information. I've been against the "gone forever" from the get go. Perhaps some of the long timers who have stayed at goal for over a year or two could tell some of us their secrets - every one has different things that work for them. Mel

Alice: Thank you for posting that link. As you know, I have not yet been scheduled for surgery (waiting for insurance approval), but I have the fear of not losing or regaining lost weight. I have already done some changes to my eating habits, but I think I should start keeping a food journal now. Thankfully, I have never eaten a lot of sweets, I like meat and potatoes. I never drank much soda or caffeine. At present, I do not drink any caffeine at all. Just decaf tea and water. My 2 sisters had the VBG surgery more than 20 years ago. One lost weight, but rarely eats anything. The other sister weighs over 350 pounds as she out ate the pouch. Thank you for the wake up call. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Brenda

Hey my Alice! It seems like I have not posted since last year. Wait a minute I haven't posted since 2004! HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Thanks for the link to that post! I never agreed with the "I lost this much weight and it's gone forever" phrase. Because I know people who have had WLS and have gained the weight back and more on top of that. I get really nervous when I hear about another post-op gaining all that weight back after such a sacrifice of going through that risky surgery! I just cannot understand the logic? I for example cannot even begin to imagine gaining back all the weight I have lost and be back to where I was before, No way! I am going to hop back on that protein train and get my behind on check!!LOL Thanks again for always being there for all of us!! Love Marilyn
