OT: Wanna move to Nyack, please help

Hi New Yorkers! My family and I are considering a move to the Nyack area (or within 20 miles of Nyack) and I need some help and/or advice. We have 5 children - 3 are school aged and the smaller 2 are still toddlers. We will not be selling our home here in NC right away so we will be looking for a rental to start us off up there. We have a 5 bedroom home in NC but our daughters all like to share so we will be looking for a 3 bedroom rental in NY. Any advice to share? Any really good apartment complexes or rental agencies that you know of? Also, your opinions on the neighborhoods and schools around there would also be appreciated. Thanks so much, Myra Hickman

Hi Myra I used to live in Rockland, in Nyack - I now live a bit more north in Orange County. I wasnt too thrilled with the Nyack school district. Some better school districts IMHO would be Pearl River or Nanuet both of which are well within 20 miles. I am not sure of rental agencies or complexes that have 3 bedroom apartments but I will ask around at work tomorrow (I still work in Rockland). God bless you and keep you, ~Andrea

Well, Myra I don't live in Nyack, but have family that does. I heard it was pretty nice, but what u can do is call the Chamber of Commerce and request a relocation package. They usually are really good about giving you good advice on the area. The number to the information in that area is 1-914-555-1212. They should give you # to the Nyack Chamber.
