Hi there everyone ! I'm Stephanie and my husband has a date for 3/23 we are very excited but as I have posted must be an the mainboard I am secretly a little nervous for him. I support him in every way and want him to be happy with himself and I have seen how this surgery has opened a hole new life for WLS patients (I am so incredibly happy for each and everyone of you)As A spouse and not a WLS patient I really dont know what to do after he comes home, Like what signs to look for if something is going wrong (though he doesnt express his feelings all that well) So, I know we have about 2 months to go I want to get educated as much as possible so he is as comfortable as he can be.He is so excited he talks about it everyday and has made so many plans for us when he looses the weight ,It just seems nice to see him have a possitive out look on life now that he has got his date I am so happy for him I just hope that he has the outcome with no complications like most everyone on here.So if anyone could help me on what to expect post -op that would be greatly appreciated . You all seems so supportive and comforting . Steph

Hi Stephanie: Congratulations to your hubby. I would suggest that you order a book from ObesityHelp that is titled: "Weight Loss Surgery- Finding the Thin Person Hiding Inside You!" by Barbara Thompson. The cost is $19.95 and is great for your husband to read also. Ms. Thompson had WLS and the book is excellent for WLS patients and their significant others. She wrote it with the help of her doctors and husband. Truly worth the money. I am having my husband and daughters read parts of it so they understand what they can do to help me and why I am doing this. Good luck in your search. The board is always here for support and help. Bless you both. Brenda
