Maybe it's just me, but I had my surgery on July 12, 2004 and to date have only lost 67lbs. Is there anything I can to increase my monthly weight loss. I do admit, I haven't been consuming as much water...when I do it swells me up and makes me feel heavy. I'm doing fine with the protein. Guess I have to increase my workouts. It just boggles me to see people who began around the same weight as me, but had the surgery AFTER me almost at the 100lb mark lost or there already. Any words of advice? Anyone else lose the weight sloooowwwly...?

I had my surgery April 5th, 2004 and I've lost 101 lbs. That isn't much when most of my friends that had surgery after me reached 100 lbs at 6 months and its been 9.5 for me. I sometimes get discouraged but i've also heard that the slower you lose the less your body rebels so enjoy the fact that you ARE losing and keep up the good work. faith 278.5/177/145

Hey Candie Water and exercise seem to be the key if you are already doing the protein. You know what it 67 pounds gone for good. That is awesome Just keep on keepin on. Tina

Faith and Tina thanks so much for the words of encouragement. I guess this should all become a concern if a year hits and I'm not at the 100lb mark yet. Thanks...

Candie, I think my weight loss is going slow also, but I am only 2 months out so I am waiting for the 6 month mark to judge. My question for you is since you are losing slowly have you been able to avoid the hair loss, sagging skin, sagging breasts? I'm hoping that if this is the case, and if so it may be a good trade off. Let me know. Thanks

Hey Michelle...I thought about that too as my weight loss is going slow. I have very little sagging skin (if any). I'm not sure if it's because I started out at only 245 and not a higher weight (meaning more stretched skin) or if it's because I'm losing slowly. My breasts are a little saggy (always were though), but they don't look like wrinkled paper bags like I thought they would. Now the hair...that's a different story! It's been shedding since October (about 4 months now). It has actually gotten worse but I believe I've read a few times that when it gets to its worse...it then stops. I also began taking a high dosage (5mg=5000mcg) of biotin in addition to my protein. Hopefully it will stop by Spring. I am really annoyed by it though because my hair, which wasn't all that thick to begin with has really thinned out. Plus I'm sooo tired of brushing it off my clothes, my car seat and pulling it out of my comb. Can't wait for it to stop!!! Hope that helped. As for me, I figure I should reach 100lb lost within the next 4.5 months. If I don't then I know something is up.
