9 Months post-op having problems with eating.....

Hi this is the first time I posted a message so here goes. I would like to know if I'm alone in this situation or not. I am 9 months post op and have gone from 464 the day of surgery to 310 as of this morning. My problem is that I purge after eating almost every meal. It doesn't matter how much or little I eat I just can not keep it down. I have been discussing the problem with my doctor but I was just wondering if anyone else has gone through this. I too am 9 months out and I USED to have this problem a lot. It was usually one of the following reasons. 1. I ate too fast and/or didn't chew well 2. I drank with my food If you are keeping nothing down even well chewed slowly eaten foods you may have a medical issue such as a stricture or blockage..get to your surgeon..pronto. Keep us posted. I havent had the operation yet, but i just went to a lecture yesterday where they surgeon described your symptoms as probable stricture that needs to be dilated in the hospital. Call your surgeon and have him check you out. I hope you feel better.

Hi Michele~~ Faith and Pamela have given you good advice!!! Please call Dr Gellman today and discuss the possiblity of a blockage or stricture. I did have myself checked out already and there is no blockage. I am trying to refrain from drinking with meals and it seems to be helping. Thanks for the advice ladies. Michele

michele I have not had the surgery as yet, in fact yvonne has just told me my date is for 2/15/05. I have Dr.Gadaleta for my surgeon. I agree with the others to notify the doc right away as it could possibly be a stricture. I wish you the best .
