My Surgeon Has Finally Been Approved!!!

I am absolutely floating on air this morning! I was getting so discouraged and feeling that I just wasn't ever going to be able to have the surgery but I finally got the call this morning that Dr. DiBenedetto has been approved by Independent Health to do Bariatric surgery! They did their site visit back on December 4 and the Doctor's office was optimistic but I hadn't heard so I had just about given up hope. I talked to Sue right away as soon as I picked up the message that they needed to talk to me about the surgery and I was sure she was going to tell me that Independent Health wanted him to do more surgeries but NOPE!! She said thos words "He has been approved" and I lost it! She is supposed to send in for my approval today so I am going to be a wrec****il I hear. I am shouting it from the rooftops that Dr. DiBenedetto has been approved!!

Thank you Alice...yes it has certainly been a long time in hearing those words....I didn't even listen to the whole message...I heard that he was approved to do the surgeries and I hung up and called the office back right away! I just hope the doctor's office sends in the paperwork today like they said they would. The letter has been written and in my file for months now....I have everything done except for the pe-op stuff so there should be nothing to hold it up. I'm so glad I told my new boss when I started the job in December this would possibly be coming up so when I get approval she won't be too surprised. I think March would be a great time to have the surgery but hey I will settle for February if it can happen that quickly! I am sure when I do get my approval all of NY will hear me yelling!
