Hi all. I'm 3 months out, have lost around 70 lbs, and overall am *so happy w/ my progress....BUT.... For the last few (3?) weeks, the scale has been playing w/ the same 3 or 4 lbs.....one day up, the next down......it's driving me crazy! I've heard that sometimes your body tends to get "stuck" at a weight you've previously been for a length of time. I'm almost hoping that's what this is. I'm at 215-219 lbs, and was around 220 lbs for *years as a teen. Could this be it? I'm getting in my fluids, getting as much proteins as I can, following the "10 commandments", joined a gym, walk when I'm not at the gym.....I don't know what else I should do....and I'm just a tad nervous that this will be it....I'm only halfway there! Logically, I know I can't keep losing 24 lbs a month indefinitely.....but HELP!!!! Lorriane, Alice.......other century members....did this happen to you?? I'm Claudia

Hi Claudia 1st I'm not post-op yet still waiting to hear about appeal... now Claudia let me Congratulate you on the remarkable 70lbs weight loss.... You are right you can not continue to loss 24 lbs a month... I know you have heard this many times before said to others and now it is your turn....you are on a plateau.....but don't let that get you down.....you have lost a huge amount of weight and now you will begin to lose inches and that is a good thing....so just hang in there and it will start to move again....and I don't think you will stay at that weight you will move on to your goal weight.....some times we just need to be reminded the change our body is going through and remember that weight is muscle inches is fat... Hang in there Claudia and you are doing great.... Christine

Thanks, Christine! I think I know intellectually that it's a plateau, but it's my first *real plateau, and it's frightening! I do feel good, and I tried on a pair of pants today that were snug a few weeks ago, and now they fit great, so I *know I'm still losing, it's just not showing on the scale, and I'm pretty ok with that....for now! Thanks again for the support! Claudia

Yes Claudia!! First thing you have to do is stop weighing yourself everyday! Your doing a fantastic job with your new tool. And you have lost an amazing amount of weight----70 lbs!! Second, change the foods that your eating. Add more protein and keep your carbs low. We tend to eat the same things and making some eating changes does work to jumpstart the weightloss. Also try drinking more, fluids of course. Keep us posted!!

Thank you, Alice! I did 2 protein shakes today (120 cal and 24 g protein each) and had a handful of peanuts for mid-pm snack (170 cal and another 8 g protein), and am having Chicken parm for dinner (no pasta or breading on ckn)...so I'm at least getting the 60 g protein in. I'm going to try something else I read: Eating 80% of my cals before 4 pm. So maybe I'll do some leftover chicken for lunch tomorrow and have the protein shakes for b-fast and dinner......something will have to give soon....with less than 1000 cal/day, I can't NOT lose weight! Thanks again for your advice & support! Claudia
