Tomorrow is my appointmen...

Tomorrow is my appointment with my PCP and I am kinda nervous. What do I ask her? Do I need a paper from her for the surgeon? I already picked a surgeon, and I have a consultation meeting on the 28th. Am I going to my PCP so she can send a letter of recommendation to my insurance company? I do not think she has ever gone through the paperwork process of all this. I just need to know what to ask her, and not sound stupid. Or forget things. I have been keeping a food journal since late September. Should I bring it? My psychologist is also on my side. She said I should bring in a picture of my grandmother. I am genetically overweight. I am a spitting image of my late grandmother, who was 350 # when she passed. Do you think that information will help me? I am 240# and 5'2" right now. Do you think she will say that I am not big enough? Oh...my nerves! I am so nervous that it just won't even work out tomorrow.

First of all, calm down. Second: Go to the researching part of this website and there's a whole section on dealing with your pcp. I also got a sample letter for my pcp which he used. There's so much information here that you should get through tomorrow with flying colors! If all else fails, there are other pcp's out there. Good Luck Cheryl

Thank you for the support! I needed that confidence booster. Nothing like finding some awesome information to make me feel more confident with my case. I cannot find that sample letter for the PCP that you mention, and I think that would be the icing on the cake. Do you have a link to it? Or does anyone else know of the link to the letter? I already have 4 pages of information for her. Plus my food journal.
