Anyone in CNY and if so...
what doctors are around here that do the surgery? I have Medicaid and I am in Oswego. But I can travel to Syracuse. I want to have my research done before I go to the endochrinologist in February. I will be asking him for the approval for surgery.
(I have to go to an endochrinologist because I have had my Thyroid tested since I was about 10-12 years old, always coming back negative...my doc is sending me there for his opinion)
Hi Haley,
did you try looking in the dotors section at the top right hand side of the website and if you still have not found one try by hospital section to find one in your area.....after you do find a list of surgeons start to call and see if they are accepting your insurance...you can start there if no one e-mails you with information in your area....
Good luck

Hello! Yes, you are very close! What a great winter so far, huh?
I researched on Dr. O'Malley, and he sounds very promising, but I do not want to travel to Rochester. I am a very weary driver and I have never drove in Rochester before...I would be driving myself to the meetings. So, I looked into Syracuse since I am more familiar with driving there. Still researching, but if a $50 fee is going to help me with my happiness, I can't refuse. I just hope it isn't money wasted and I get refused, because I am definitely not a rich person..I am a 2nd chance college student, which means back to paying $250 just for a text book, etc.
WINTER HAS BEEN WONDERFUL SO FAR !!
and I REALLYYYYYY hope I did not jinx myself by what I just said....LOL I know we are getting a storm today and tomorrow but......Soo far......UNREAL !!! I can see the grass in January....lol and when You drive an hour each way to work, that is a great thing !!!
Anyways...........Need anything??!!?? Just give me a yell...I would probably hear ya !!

Hi Haley,
I had my surgery by Dr. Weiss in August 2004. He is a great doctor. I liked him a lot and their practice. There is a lot of people here on this site that use University Bariatrics. I did a lot of research before I went there and could share with you the info on some of the other Doctors. I am 21 weeks out and down 86 lbs and feel great.
I sent in my paperwork about a year ago but they didn't have a fee. I would ask them if that was something new.
Here is the link to their website. You can check out their paperwork there. They also have a support group you can go to each month.

Also, here is the link to their forum here. It's slow going but I have met a lot of nice people.
