OK I know this sounds crazy but I had surgery 4 weeks ago and for the last week my scale hasn't moved at all. My weight loss has been a little slow from the start but it has been because I am exercising and turning fat into muscle which weighs more, but for the scale not to move at all is a little disheartening. Any one else have this issue and what did you do. I am still on pureed foods and I am not getting in the right amount of calories and protein yet but am trying really hard. Could that be the cause? Thanks Kathi

Kathi- Definately work at the protein and calories, and water. I know its been rough because you have been sick, how are you feeling by the way? For what it is worth, I have heard of so many people hitting the "3 week wall". It's like you lose for 3 weeks and then boom, it stops. Your body just needs time to "catch up". Think of it this way, you are building a staircase down to a healthier weight!!! Its like steps instead of a steady incline. Its perfectly normal and to be expected. Good luck! Janet

Hi Kathi, This has been happening to me too, it seems I can loose a pound a day for a few days and then the scale stops, but then it does start to move again. At this point it really has no choice. I am taking in so few calories and exercising off 200 calories (eliptical machine) a day 5 days a week that even if it stops for a few days, I KNOW it has to start up again.... and it does!! I have lost 35 lbs so far - not as much as some but a definite improvment over pre-surgery because I KNOW these are gone for good and I am no where near done yet!! Don't lose heart, it will come off!! God bless you and keep you, ~Andrea

hello! dont give up..i think that it might be the same as when you diet...your body knows what is going on and it hold on to the fat...but once it goes out of "shock" it will let go and it will come off quickly again! kate
