help i need to know something

hi i need to know has anyone used medicaid and get approve? and also how long did it take for you to get approve?

i have medicaid in NC ... but the military is movin us to NY in jan... medicaid took about a month .... there only beef was that my baby girl had to be a yr old... medicaid paid for it all... i did have to pay the $3 copays and that was it....

Do you have straight Medicaid or did they make you sign up for one of the medicaid insurances? Not sure if I phrased that one right....I had medicaid and then they made me sign up for HIP Medicaid. Not sure how the other insurances offered are but HIP is ALOT of paperwork. I'm still trying to get all my tests done, etc. Doc. said that with my co-morbidities (what a word! Jeez) I should be covered. I'd go to the website for the Bariatric Association...something like that...google it. I know it's there...you'll be able to pull up names of surgs. that are accredited. I think it also lists what insurances they take....could also do a cross reference on this site. Good luck. For me, it's been about a year to get all the tests, etc. Deb

HI. I HAVE HIP MEDICAID AND IT WAS COVERED COMPLETELY. WHEN I FIRST STARTED MY TREK, I CALLED THEM (HIP) AND THEY SAID THAT AS LONG AS THE DR. SAID IT WAS MEDICALLY NECESSARY, IT WOULD BE COVERED. THEN WHEN I GOT MY DATE, I CALLED AGAIN AND THEY SAID YES I WAS COVERED AND GAVE MR THE AUTHORIZATION NUMBER! MY SURGEONS OFFICE DID ALL THE WORK! THOSE TWO PHONE CALLS WERE THE ONLY CONTACT I HAD WITH THE INS. CO UNTIL ABOUT A WEEK AFTER THE SURGERY AND THEY CALLED TO ASK HOW I WAS, AND DID I LIKE THE SERVICE I GOT AT THE HOSPITAL! BOY WAS THAT A SHOCKER. THE INS. CO CALLING TO ASK HOW I WAS? I THOUGHT IT WAS A WRONG NUMBER! LOL. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU. JOANNA
