Hello Everyone!! Has anyone heard of this???? May not be a canidate because I have IBS=Irritable Bowel Syndrome Most of the research I have done states that the IBS improves. Any thoughts, advice would be great. I know this has been my big worry and now that the surgeon says I may not be a canidate really worrys me. Help!!! DonnaMarie

Hi, I am sorry you are having discouraging information. I have had consultation, intake and physical where I told all medical personnel that I have IBS - all said I was good candidate except the fact I had ulcer which they need to check to see if it is healed or gone before I can get a surgery date. The IBS was not mentioned as being a problem. Hope you succeed in your search for WLS assistance. Maybe another bariatric surgeon?? Don't give up!!! Good Luck! Brenda

Donna, I also suffer from IBS and the Dr did not seem to worry about it. I posted that question here not to log ago and some people that had it said it improved after the surgery. I am Pre-op as well. When did your surgeon say that to you? Was it on your 1st consult?..... well I am not aware of any problems...good luck Debra
