If it was a one shot deal your ok. They usually don't like to have patients that are on it all the time have surgery because it can delay healing. I am a severe asthmatic and have been on prednisone alot and had no problems with the surgery. However I did get an upper respiratory infection in the hospital and it is now pneumonia and they are trying really hard no to use prednisone because they want me to be healed completely first. Hope this helps Kathi
