oh my .........

eeeeee, I'm so freaking scared right now, I wasn't supposed to go back to my surgeon for a second appt. until the 29th, and the office called me at work today and told me to come in next wednesday the 22nd, with my mom, and then I will have the surgery the following monday, the 27th of december!!!!!!!!!! Here I though I wouldn't be getting it till the end of January, and now it's ten days away, so scary, but what's weird is I don't believe the insurance company has approved it yet...Has anybody who's gone to Posner's office had this happen?? seems so fast... hhhhhhh, at least it will be over with before I go back for spring semester, nobody in my family is supportive about it tho, and my coworkers really aren't either, so I've been kind of upset all day. So embarassing, b/c at work today I started CRYING after my mom hung up on me when I told her about the change in appointment, looks like mas dinner is gonna be the 'last supper' for moi!!

Jennifer, Wow that is great news that you have a closer date, less time to worry about it hun....... What a great Christmas Present!!! I am very sorry that you do not have the support at home or at work.....many people are just scared of this surgery and they just don't know how else to get that accross. I found that out with a close male friend here at work. Just talk to them, let them see you know the good and the bad of the surgery and they might come around. Also if they want to take a look at this website that might help. I know it did for my mom, she was very scared for me but she feel a little bit better after reading some stories and such from this website....... Well hun I wish you the very best this holiday season and for your surgery. Remember to keep breathing and taking time to relax yourself when you feel stressed. Take care Debra

Hi, Congratulations!! If you want it, do it now. I just went to a support group meeting last night, and my WLS Dr. said that next year, many insurance companies are going to be excluding WLS. Maybe your Dr. knows something you don't know. When I went for my pre-op visit, I thought I was going to wait til the summer ( I went to see him in Dec.). He offered me Feb., and my husband made me just do it. I am so glad, because even 2 years ago, they started to make changes in the requirements. I would take advantage of the new date, but out of curiousity would ask the r. what his reason might be.
