Hi Sandy. Sounds like you irritated your pouch. Try sipping some warm tea, and going very light on food for a day or so. Of course, if you're not able to keep *anything down soon, I'd call the doc, just to be safe. Feel well! Claudia

Thank you for the advise Claudia. I just got up and am going to try the tea. Am nauseated right now but havent vomited since I went to bed. Will see what happens once I try to eat.

You should be able to start eating some things now so if you continue to be sick whenever you try you will have to contact your doctor. I was getting sick whenever I ate anything solid like meat and I had an ulcer in my pouch. My doctor gave me protonix and I feel fine most of the time now. Usally when i get sick I everything up for about a hour and a half then drink some warm tea and its over till next time. Good luck to you and keep us posted Love Elaine

I have been eating but I have a terrible time with meat unless I grind it up and make a salad with it. Alot of it I think is fear of it getting stuck. I had a cat scan done a couple of weeks ago because I had an abcess under my incision, which is cleared up now but he said the stomach looked good at that time. I am going to try some tea right now and some yogart. Thanks for replying... Hugs, Sandy

Sandy~~ When you get that "stuck" feeling drinking something hot seems to help. For me, beef was one of the first things that I could tolerate. Did you chew, chew, chew! Was it cooked too dry. Moist foods are the best in the beginning. Please do not give up on trying to add more protein. When your pouch is feeling better give it another try and let us know how it went!!

I had that feeling once before and once I drank something I vomited it all up and then I was better. This time though nothing would stay down. I was able to get the stuck meat up but vomited for almost 9 hours after that. I am not yet used to meat mainly because I am afraid of it due to it getting stuck twice. Maybe I'm not chewing enough, something I will have to work on..I know I need the protein and I'm not getting enough of it...going to try some tea and yogart right now. Thanks Alice... On the bright side, my surgery was October 12th and I am down 50 lbs.. Hugs, Sandy
