Hi everyone! I just just went to see my PCP today for a referral. She has no problem giving me one, but her office isn't accepting CDPHP anymore after the first of the year. So she couldn't give me the referral today because of my insurance. Well I went down to the medicaid office today to switch my insurance to medicaid max. Has anyone else had something like this happen to them? Or has anyone else used just straight medicaid insurance for their surgery? I would appreciate any feedback on this! Thanks so much!

Yes I used just straight Medicaid for my surgery on Aug 3rd and I did not need an aproval.I had my surgery in a week from seeing the surgeon the first time .Yep, so fast my head spinned and I couldn't believe it.I had the pre-op testing, seen the surgeon, got 2 clearances all in a week.Call North General Hospital in the Bronx and ask for Dr.Beaton.

Hello, I had my revision RNY surgery in May, 2004 and I had Medicaid. I did not have to wait for approval either and had no problem getting in. I got a final bill from the hospital (now hold on to your hat) and it was $149,659.00. My portion of the bill was $25.00. I had had complications and was in the hospital from May 18 to August 1,2004. Hope this info helps.

hi. I have HIP medicaid and I was approved right away! I dont know if that helps you. When I called to ask about it they said that as long as it was medically necesssary, it was covered. Hope this helps. Joanna
