hi friends i will be 2 weeks post-op on tuesday and am so nauseous that it is hard for me to eat or drink anything. did anyone else experience this? i had a very difficult pregnancy and felt the exact same way (i know i am definitely NOT pregnant though. lol) if i take a sip of anything i feel like i will vomit. i have a check-up tomorrow and am going to talk to the doctor about it but have never heard of anyone having this. i also had a problem with my drain that resolved when it was removed but since then, if i eat one really small meal a day, it is a good day. i am stricly following the foods on my doctor's list and keeping them bland to avoid further upset. i am taking my tums and vitamins and really trying to keep up fluids but it is so hard. so, needles to say, i am feeling down and questioning my decision if this is the way i am going to feel. i had this surgery to be healthy and feel good, but all i am getting is feeling worse than pre-op. if anyone had any advice, please share..... shea

Hi Shea. I had a lot of nausea at about 2 or 3 weeks, and lasting a couple of weeks. For me, it was dehydration. Once I got past that initial feeling of , I could get more fluids in, and felt much better....it was also worse by not eating enough. I have found nuts to be my savior (not until about 5 weeks out, though)...they're easy to bring wherever I go, they're pretty quick & discreet if I need to be (ie: a meeting for work) and they fill me up. Until you can try them, try sipping some hot tea....it's soooo soothing on the pouch.... Feel better! I only ever questioned my decision to do this once, when I was eating so little b/c I was so nauseous and felt so ill.....this will pass, and you'll be feeling great and running in the yard w/ the kids like I did today, just amazed at how little you were able to do such a short time ago....I promise! hi claudia thanks for the help. i am going to try the tea in a little bit. i suspected that the cycle was the not eating/drinking due to nausea and nausea due to not eating/drinking enough... i am going to ask my doctor if there is anything they can give me to help curb the nausea just a little so i can try to get in more fluids. i did try to take my tums this morning thinking that if i had them first thing they would help me to eat a little. no dice... =( thanks again for the advice and i hope i am on your side of the fence soon! shea

Shea- Sorry to hear about the naseau. Its the pits. I do find if I do not drink enough I will feel that way. My doc gave me a prescription of phernegan (sp?) to help with naseau. I never even took it but maybe your doc can do the same for you. Good luck! Janet
