I am soooo mad right now.... A co-worker of mine just told me secretly today that the place I work for has been looking into getting a different insurance! She told me because she knows I want to go for this surgery. This coming Wednesday I have one last thing to do at the cardiologist and my testing will be done...now I have to lose 14lbs and I can get my surgery approved! Im so upset about my insurance changing because apparently hes looking into it not covering so much (cheap jerks!!!!!) The co-worker that told me, is the one that is suppose to be looking into this for the boss. She has purposely been trying to avoid doing it for my benefit. So now that I know I am basically rushed to lose this 14lbs!!! What am i gonna do....I have MVP right now and it's excellent..I have to pay a $20 copay.....but my boss told this co-worker that he wanted to get a plan that has NO prescription coverage which means WE would have to pay full price for our prescriptions, now we pay $10. Plus he wants a plan were WE would have to pay a $1000 deductable for hospital!!! He doesnt even pay us that much to begin with!! So basically right now I have to lose this 14lbs SOON!! She said she can stall it for so long but by the time they get one and sign up it wont be until 30 till it is in affect. Shes thinking like Feb 1st. I called my surgeon and explained to them and they said there schedule for January surgerys is WIDE open! I will be eating nothing but fruits and vegetables for the next couple of days and exercising my butt off. Can anyone tell me what prescriptions they might have had to go on after surgery? Im just curious to know what I might have to pay out of pocket when this insurace crap happens. Sorry for such a babbled on vent but i have so many things I have to do now because of this crap.! Thanks for listening Tanya

Hi Tanya, The only prescriptions they gave me to take home with me was a painkiller (which I didnt even fill) and pepsid which my insurance wouldnt cover because there is over the counter available. If you need the painkillers, there is no refill anyway so just have it filled immediately when you get released from the hospital and it will still be under your insurance now. The other things that are recommended are vitamins - I was told to take Zinc (for one month following surgery) and then B12, Iron, and Calcium in addition to a multivitamin. All this is not covered by insurance. Sorry bout the problems with new insurance at your job, that sounds like a bummer for everyone there, but I am confident you will have your surgery before the change occurs - you sound totally committed to losing what you need to prior to surgery - I bet that 14 lbs is gone in 2 weeks! God bless you and keep you, ~Andrea

I am doing GREAT!! I am following doctors orders, trying new soft foods every day. One thing that I never really expected was that I am not hungry - ever, lol - TOTALLY new experience for me!! I have a shake in the morning for breakfast, I eat lunch at lunchtime and dinner at dinnertime, but not because I am hungry, but because I have to get my protein in. I dont know if this will change as time goes by but I now feel like all those thin people that I could never understand - the ones that eat to live instead of living to eat. I eat a few bites and then I dont want anymore, but I force myself to eat until I feel a dull pressure that indicates my pouch is full. I force myself because if I dont there is no way I will get all the protein I need in. The pressure is not uncomfortable - just an indicator that the pouch is full. So far I have lost about 22 lbs - a lb a day! I am waiting for hubby to put together my eliptical machine and once I get into that I expect to see the weight loss continue at at least this pace if not even a little more. Unfortunately for me I have the flu (big waaaah) and I am going to the doctor today because I am sure I have an ear infection. I started getting a full, underwater feeling in my ear last night, and then woke up in the middle of the night with such pain in my ear I that I wanted to go to te ER - my poor kids have all had ear infections when they were small but I never knew what the pain was like - those poor kids!! Well I took some advil at about 12:30 am and the pain was gone within about 20 minutes, but the full underwater feeling is still there so I am off to the doc this morning to get some antibiotics. But other than that I am doing great - got my christmas shopping almost all done and got a lot of exercise this past week while doing that, lol! God bless you and keep you, ~Andrea
