Help with info
Brenda, my sister and I had surgery in April. My sister and I both had GERD and she also had an ulcer at one time. They just have to be sure the ulcer is GONE before surgery. The GERD actually helped because she was exactly 100 pounds overweight and GERD is a co-morbidity that is helped SIGNIFICANTLY by surgery. She is doing great and so am I. Good luck on the 6th.. What Dr. are you seeing? I'm in Hornell but wen't to Rochester for surgery with Dr. Boss

Hi!
Thank you so much for the information. You have made my day! I was really worried that it would keep me from having wls. You are my .
I am seeing Dr. McKane in Elmira. He has been doing wls since the 80's. I can't wait to be on the losing side.
It looks as if you are doing great! I haven't seen 140 since I was 16!!!!
Congratulations to you and your sister!!
Hi Brenda I was advised by my surgeon to have and upper endoscopy as one of my pre surgery tests, and sure enough they found an ulcer. The gastro wouldn't give me the medical clearance till it was healed and my surgeon said the same so he put me on medication for a month and then I had to have another endoscopy to make sure it was healed and sure enough it was. My surgeon said that there never going to be able to look into that part of my stomach again so he wanted to make sure it was gone it was in the portion of my stomach that was bypassed. So it pushed my surgery back about a month not to bad. Hope this helps Take care.
