Pathetic and Sad today
I did not have a good day today despite my best efforts and wants. I am 10 days post op and feeling sooooooo sorry for myself. How could I let myself get this big, why couldn't I do it on my own? A little less to eat in the past would have meant I could have sat and ate with everyone today. I just ended up crying myself to sleep. Then we go to my inlaws who I am not very fond of and that was a disaster (too long to go into) but whatever just needed to get this out. Hope everyone else had a better day and I hope this passes soon!

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{[Tina}}}}}}}}}}}}}} I hear ya hon!!!! Try to remember though that you cannot change the past and while yes it's depressing that we had to take this step, take pride in the fact that you had the courage to do so. At times like these I always think of the Serenity prayer. I am also sorry you had a bad time at your in laws. Tomorrow is a brand new day, I hope it is better for you!!! More hugs!!! {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Hi Tina
It's all the emotions that are build up inside of us, with the non-eating or not eating much, heck the first few days I dreamt of food. I'm sure like me you have tried dieting on your own and not just once but a hundred times over your life.
As far as the in-laws, it is really to bad we can't pick them. Support is all we ask for.
We have to remember we did this for our health, I for one was affriad of a stroke.
To think next Thanksgiving we will be healthier and thinner
Take Care
Kyle
Tina,
I hope you're feeling better today. You're going through a very normal part of this process, compunded by the holidays. You're mourning the loss of food, and dealing with normal family junk at the same time. BY Christmas, you'll have lost a good chunk of weight, will be able to eat more and feel great about yourself. Just take it one day at a time.
By the way, if you could have done it by yourself you'd be in a very small minority. I don't know the statistics for how many MO people can lose all the weight they need to, but of those who do, only 15 percent can keep it off without surgery. So please take it easy on yourself.
