One week POst Op

I went and saw the surgeon today for my one week post op visit. He said everything looks great, he took the staples out (THANK GOD!!!!!!!), lifted my driving restriction and lifting restriction (no straining though). I also get to go back to work on Monday!!!!! I lost 11 pounds this past week!!!! I am very excited!! Actually it's a bit more because they were going by the weight when I saw him at the end of September and I know I had put on a few extra (not much) with last supper syndrome. I can now have pureed foods!!!!! Looks like I will be able to have mashed taters for Turkey day!!!! I also got a script for triniscon and they took blood work. Also regarding my post about being hungry, it was almost like a switch went off in my head and the real bad cravings stopped, thank God again!!!!!!!!! Hope all is well with my loving AMOS family!!! WOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! You are doing super. I'm very proud of you. Oh I know, it was heaven getting the staples out. Wow, going back to work already. Just don't over do it. Enjoy you mashed taters. The next stage is like having prime rib after being on liquids. I'm so glad your cravings went away. I know everyone is different, bu****ch yourself with the Triniscon. I started it and it made me sick. My tummy hurt and I was throwing up. I stopped taking it and then started up again to make sure that was what was making me sick. Sure enough it was. I was over dosing my system on Iron. I started taking just one a day and then I was fine. Keep up the FANTASTIC job. Happy Thanksgiving if I don't talk to you before. God Bless Linda

Thanks Linda!!! I remember you talking about the trinsicon so I will keep that in the back of my head. Dr. Boss said I should not have any problems with it but if I do to give his office a call. I cannot wait for mashed potatoes tomorrow!!!!!!!! It will be like prime rib. I also found canned turkey. I am gonna food process that mix with a little mayo and waalaa I have Thanksgiving dinner!!!!!!!! Hopefully it will not make me I hope you have a great Thanksgiving as well!!!!!! Janet

Hey Janet, Congrats! I had my 1st post op visit yesterday and I too was given the go ahead to have pureed foods and boy, you would think I was given a pot of gold considering how happy I am about it, lol. So far I have lost 13 lbs and hey, maybe us recent post ops should just get together for Thanksgiving and make a some mashed potatoes and gravy and enjoy it together!
