Hello Debra~~ Your up early this moring!! I am having a house full of company for Thanksgiving and love every minute of it!! This sounds crazy-but the more people and cooking I do-the less I eat!! Just do the best you can and keep reminding yourself about your new lifestyle that awaits you!

Alice, That sounds really good, we have a small family so it is a small gathering but just as fun... I can understand about the more poeple the less you eat, that is because you are so busy prepairing all the food... Well thanks for the words hun and take care.... Debra Peace

Hi there Debra, Happy Tuesday to you. I am so looking forward to the holidays. I am a nurse so I have to work Thanksgiving. The holidays are very hard to me. I can feel it already. I went to a christening on Sunday. The buffet had food I don't think would agree with me.I had alot of salad and a small piece of chicken.Life is different and I am adjusting. If anyone says this is the easy way out , they are wrong. This is a lifetime commitment and also involvers behavior changes. I am no way sorry I had the surgery. I am healthy and fit now and no longer diabetic. What more could I ask for. Good to hear from you. Have a great week...Lorraine

Lorraine, You can look at your working in 2 ways: one that you will miss all the gathering but the other you can say well maybe you will not be around ALL that food....... Yes I have come across people that have said to me that this was the easy way out and I have always responded back to them, sometimes it was not so nice...... but I am also tired of people say that......if they only knew.......and I have not even had my surgery yet but know from seeing all the posts here and from my cuz........ Take care hun and have a great holiday...... Debra Peace

Debra- I know what you mean about those hubbys!!!! I have the kids by myself today, but then have to deal with my hubby on Thursday. Friday, most of Saturday, and Sunday!!!!! It's like having another child!!!!! I do have to say though my husband has been wonderful with my whole surgery and did great taking care of the house while I was down. He has even made changes in his own diet and routine. Janet
