can someone help

I am thinking about getting the surgery done, but need help finding a dr that takes my insurance.. how would i go about it. i would call my insurance co pany, but i want to find a dr that people would recommend..

Hi Melanie! I don't know what type of insurance you have and I don't know where you live I had my surgery done @ The White Plains Hospital and My surgeon was doctor Philip Weber. My surgery went very well and my surgeon is a wonderful man he lets you know all the pros and con and he also make you feel so confortable you leave his office feeling like you have know him all your life! All I can say is call your insurance company and find out first if they cover the surgery and what the requirements are because all insurance company's are different. Hope this helps some. Well all I can say is if you want here is the # to my surgeons office (914) 948-1000 Call around 10:00 am and then when you hear the recording just hit 0 and it will direct you right to the office and you can ask them if they take your coverage but remember they are in White Plains but the surgeons in this office are all so wonderful! Melanie, You could try calling the hospitals nearest you to see if they do the surgery. If you live near Maimonedes, I know they have a program. I printed out the list of surgeons on this site in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island. I called many offices to see if they took my insurance. I came up with a list that took my insurance and started doing research on those that did. I emailed patients of a couple of docs to see what their experiences were. So if you can narrow it down, you could ask this NY board how they felt about particular doctors. I used Dr. Leitman at Lenox Hill in Manhattan and think he is the greatest!

Melanie I used Dr. Marc Bessler who is affiliated with Columbia Presbyterian in Manhattan and he was amazing my recovery was great and I have no problems but of course everyone is different and everyone handles the surgery different if you want more information feel free to e-mail me anytime [email protected]. Hi Melanie I am one week post op. I had surgery with Dr. Macura at Maimonides Medical Center. They were all awesome. They handled everything from day one without a glitch. Dr. Macura and Lazarro were knowledgable and sensitive. I would highly recommend them and I am a tough critic. Good Luck. If you search the doctors on this sight you will find their number Tina
