sleep apnea pre op
I had sleep apnea pre op. But I knew I had it before surgery, so I had my machine...it's called a CPAP (continuous positive air pressure) ..it keeps your throat from closing so you can breathe while sleeping. I found the mask or nasal cannula annoying, but mine was mild enough that after only a month post op, I'm done w/ my machine! YAY!
Good luck!

I found out I had sleep apnea prior to my surgery but my surgeon didn't find out until after my surgery. I didn't get my cpap machine until after my surgery either. As a matter of fact after my surgery I ended up sleeping the night in the recovery room because they gave my room away after finding out I had sleep apnea. There wasn't a machine available and when they found one, they had already given my room away.
