You guys are GREAT!!!!

Thanks to everyone who answered me. My appointment went great. MVP requires me to lose 14 lbs. I don't need a sleep apnea test which is great. I can't believe I can get my surgery scheduled mid to late January. I'm so excited. My only problem is one of my daughters. She's 30, 5'6" and 105 lbs. - her father's metabolism. Today she told me if I can lose the 14 lbs, then why don't I cancel the surgery and just keep dieting. she can't understand how I can be committed to the lifestyle changes after the surgery and can't do it now. I've tried everything, but she doesn't understand. I think she's just afraid. My other daughter is a clinical psychologist and is behind me 100% as is my husband. Hopefully they can help my daughter. I've been on this site for several months and have seen how much you all support each other and now I'm here doing the same. THANKS!!!!!!!!!

Hey there Linda! Good to see ya! I understand what you are going through with your daughter. My son (14yrs) was so afraid for me but once he understood that I really needed to do the surgery he was ok with it. I explained to him the whole procedure and he said ok and he was behind me 100%. Thanks for the support Evelyn. I'm going to give her some things to read this weekend. The problem is that I've been heavy since she was born and she has never seen me otherwise. And I've never talked about how my weight affects me. Only my husband knows (and all of you) what we go through. Linda

Linda I'm so glad you are feel much better today about your surgery and you have had all your questions answered..... In time you daughter will come around it just might take some time.....most people are afraid of the unknown my husband was so aganist me doing it and I took him with me to the surgeon and he change the way he felt.....
