My day...meals...
Just thought I'd post what I'm eating on a given day, and see if I'm on the right track.....I'm 5 weeks post op today....
Yesterday I had:
Breakfast: 4 oz. soy protein shake (7:30 am)
Lunch: 1 bite low fat cheese stick (just couldn't make myself take another bite of that...yuck!) 1/4 banana (noon)
Snack: 1 oz. cheddar cheese (3 pm)
Dinner: 2-3 oz. ground beef w/ taco seasoning, a little cheddar sprinkled on top (5 pm)
Snack: 2 oz. cheddar cheese w/ 3 wheat thins (9:30 pm)
I'm craving fruit and veggies like you wouldn't believe, but not sure where to put them....trying to increase my fluids and protein.

Claudia~~
Looks like your doing great!! Trouble getting in that cheese stick--are you allowed to have some tuna or egg salad, soft scrambled eggs. Have you tried some ricotta cheese, you can add anything you like to it. You can heat it up with a just a little of your favorite pasta sauce.
For added protein, throw in some protein powder when making your s/f pudding. And don't forget about s/f ice pops!
Hi Alice!
I was told by my surgeon to "start experimenting" but so far I've not tried too many things.....the "guts" of a bean burrito about killed me Sunday, so I'm leary to try too many new things. I've had scrambled eggs, and ricotta....yum! Going to try some crab this weekend if I can convince my hubby to try a night out w/out the kids!
I can't do the usual protein powders (ie: unjury) b/c it turns out I have a significant allergy to whey protein.
I'm not craving sweets, and rarely have snacks between meals, unless it's that dreaded string cheese. An occasional s/f ice pop is delish, but sometimes tastes too sweet......most things that used to be good ****d tea w/ splenda, diet lipton tea, snapple, etc) are way too sweet, and I find myself w/ a newfound love of just plain water. Go figure.
Thanks for the ongoing encouragement!
Claudia
