Insurance problems

I just found out that the hospital that Dr Carryl does the surgery isnt one of the hospitals that my insurance deals with...but Dr Carryl is in my insurance book as one of the surgeons that accepts my insurance. I cant believe this. So in other words..they will pay the surgeon but not the hospital because Brooklyn Hospital isnt my insurance affiliated hospitals....would you believe this...so I am not sure of what they are going to do. I am not the only one with my insurance that is having this problem ...gosh this is unbelievable Just needed to vent..... take care and be well Love Stacey

hi stacey are you sure that there isn't another hospital that your surgeon is affiliated with? i had a similar situation with back surgery this year and it turned out that my surgeon was affiliated with 3 nyc hospitals. i just had to have the surgery at one the insurance company would cover. if he doesn't have any other affiliations, ask his surgical coordinator what the other patients have done. if he is in your plan, the insurance company has to accept a hospital he perfoms in. otherwise surgeons would be working out of their kitchens! lol good luck.. let me know how you make out! shea
