Need advice--I will be visiting New York in a few weeks!

Hello Yankee fans! I live in Maryland and we will be travelling to New York with our 8-year old daughter the day before Thanksgiving and coming home on Friday. We are staying at a hotel in New Jersey near the Meadowlands. We will be going to the Macy's parade and we're trying to decide what to do the rest of the time! Does anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking we could go ice skating at Rockefeller Center and maybe go to the Plaza Hotel and find Eloise. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated! My husband grew up in the Bronx a LONG time ago and we don't get to the city much anymore what with all the kids' activities on the weekend. Also would love some suggestions of where we could go for Thanksgiving dinner. I am 6 1/2 weeks post-op so I would like someplace where I could order something small a la carte. Hi American Girl has a store your daughter would probably love to visit, you could look it up on the internet. You could do a Yankee stadium tour if you guys are baseball fans, that is really cool we did it last year. There are naturally lots of great museums. Dinner I'm not so sure about.
